Team 624 at Texas Robotics Invitational (TRI) this past weekend!

Hi Team 624 Students, Parents, Mentors, and Alumni!

With the official competition season for FIRST game Destination: Deep Space season concluded, our participation in the offseason event the Texas Robotics Invitational (TRI) this last weekend was an outstanding success! The TRI competition was hosted at Strake Jesuit High school by Team 3847 Spectrum, and was comprised of a strong competition with many of the best teams from the Texas area going head to head. After 9 intense Qualification matches, CRyptonite came in 12th place, and was picked by the #1 Alliance lead by our friends and fellow Bechtel Sponsored team “Energy Hero’s” from Houston. After an intense set of Quarter Final matches, that included video review by the referees, our alliance had lost by just two points.

Besides our success in the main competition, on Friday, many of the girls on the team competed in an All-Girls drive team tournament, in which Team 624’s All Girl Alliance came in first!! Congratulations to Victoria Dao, BIanca Teter, Enaya Baig, and Christina Lee. (see picture with trophy!) Way to go GIRLS!
