We wound up the 2016 competition season in style by winning The Remix offseason tournament! Congratulations to our students and mentors, along with our Alliance Captain, Team 3847 (Spectrum) and Team 4206 (Robo Vikes). The finals match-up was against a tough number one seed Alliance captained by Team 1477 (Texas Torque) and rounded out by Team 231 (High Voltage) and Team 3335 (Cy-Borgs).This was the last competition featuring the 2016 game, Stronghold, but it provided a great opportunity to introduce our new team members to FRC competition. The Remix was also the first tournament for Katy ISD’s newest team, the Robo Rams from Mayde Creek HS.  Because they have yet to build their first robot, we let them use Brimstone while we competed with Armada.  With aid from our experienced team members, the Robo Rams got a wealth of real-world robotics competition experience. As part of the number six seed Alliance, they made it to the semi-finals after a tense quarter final round which went to three games!Held annually in The Woodlands, The Remix was organized by Team 1477 and Team 624, so we provided many adult and student volunteers to make this tournament the success.
