Cinco Ranch High School Robotics Team 624 was invited by ExxonMobil for the second year in a row to represent FIRST Robotics at the Texas Bowl football game on December 27th at Reliant Stadium. ExxonMobil sponsored four teams to showcase FIRST in the plaza at the Texas Bowl pregame event, TexFest. Team 624, represented by students and alumni, spent an afternoon entertaining the crowd with the Frisbee shooting robot, “Thor,” and discussing FIRST Robotics with the Minnesota and Syracuse football fans. The crowd was amazed at the complexity of the FIRST competition and how the students learn real-world engineering and computer skills designing and building the robot. Team 624 was honored that ExxonMobil and the Texas Bowl organization provided the opportunity to showcase FIRST Robotics. It was a great opportunity for team members to show their interest and passion for robotics to a diverse audience and demonstrate how it is impacting their path to a college and beyond.
