A group of CRyptonite students showed off our 2016 robot, Armada, and one of our VEX robots at the Houston Section’s annual Marine Technology Society (MTS) barbeque and technology exhibition. MTS is a national organization dedicated to disseminating marine science and technical knowledge and promoting and supporting education for marine scientists, engineers, and technicians. Over the years, several CRyptonite students have been awarded scholarships from the Houston Section of MTS, including Class of 2016 CRyptonite alumna, Jordan Wood. This year, the MTS barbeque was hosted by Seanic Ocean Systems at their Katy facility. Seanic builds products that Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) use to interface with subsea hardware. CRyptonite, along with four other high school robotics teams and members from the Texas A&M Ocean Engineering Department, got to show off their robots and projects such as a human powered submarine to very interested MTS members.
